Many of us have had moments when we have felt like there has to be some force that doesn’t want to see us succeed. We are working hard, doing the rights things, and being obedient to our vision, but we just can’t catch a break. It seems like as soon as something positive happens and we start to see some light at the end of the tunnel, the negativity creeps back in.
We start to get on a daily workout routine at the gym and then we get sick, or injure ourselves. Now, we have to be out for weeks and have to start training all over again. We finally get an interview for that job we really wanted and our car breaks down on the way to the interview. Now, we don’t know if we will make it to the interview or how we will bet back in forth to work if we get the job.
I had finally completed everything I needed to do to relaunch my personal training business. It took me months to redesign my website, create new programs, write the code, design marketing, and tons of other tedious tasks. Which included many late nights, early mornings, and all nighters.
The days following, I was invited to a meeting that had the potential to be a huge opportunity. I was cautiously excited. The same day of the meeting, my main computer wouldn’t boot up. This is after my external hard drive went out days ago that contains years and years of valuable data. Even after a great meeting, I worked on my computer all weekend to no avail and I started to fall way behind schedule.
Everyday without my hard drive and my computer, the frustration and pressure started to build up. I had to implement all the motivation tips I give other people just to keep my energy from getting too far out of balance. As of this morning, I was able to get the computer to boot up. This post is literally the first thing I have been able to do in a week.
As difficult as that was, I wasn’t going to allow myself to be a victim of these negative events. I knew if I started feeling sorry for myself, that negative energy would consume me. I would not only attract more negative things, but I wouldn’t be able to take advantage of the positive things that were happening. Essentially, that would have allowed me to miss out on a great opportunity that I had been working towards for years.
